321math.com CDROM

Many users of the aplusmath.com web site have requested a version that could be purchased on CDROM and run without an internet connection. Finally, it is now available! aplusmath.com has been converted into a software application called 321 Math that does not require a web browser or internet connection.

Here is a list of the features on the CDROM:

Flashcards:

  • Practice basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Adjust difficulty by specifying numbers between 0-24 for numerator/denominator.
  • Keep track of your score as you go.
  • You can specify a right-to-left input for the answer
  • You can also create your own flashcards for printing. The Flashcard Creator allows you to create a PDF file of flashcards to print on your printer at home.

    Worksheets:

  • Create basic worksheets containing Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division, US Money, and Order of Operations.
  • Create worksheets containing Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division of decimals.
  • Options to include Name/Date fields, title, instructions, vertical spacing, horizontal/vertical layout of problems, and font size are available
  • The worksheets are created in PDF format, so the format is standard and looks the same on all computers.
  • Since the worksheets are in PDF format, you can send them as an attachment in email or even post them to your web site. Anyone with a PDF reader can open and print the worksheets. Adobe Reader is included on the CDROM, or you can download it for free at Adobe's web site.

    Games:

  • MATHO - Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, and Division. BLOCKOUT is also available when you would like to fill in the whole sheet of answers.
  • CONCENTRATION - Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, and Division.
  • HIDDEN PICTURE - Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, and Division, over 75 images with descriptions taken from the noaa.gov open source photo library.
  • Each game can be customized to a different level of difficulty by specifying a maximum numerator/denominator.
  • Keep track of your high scores at MATHO, BLOCKOUT, and CONCENRATION.

  • How much is the CDROM? -- $14.99 US (Single License), $34.99 US (Site License)
  • What is a Site License? -- With a site license, you may install 321math.com on any computer within the same building. The single license allows 321math.com to be installed on one computer.
  • Where can I buy the CDROM? -- PURCHASE CDROM HERE from CafePress
  • Will it run on Linux? -- Yes. It has been tested on Red Hat and should work on other Linux systems. You must copy the 321math.com folder and its contents from the CDROM to a directory on your computer. Bring up a terminal window and "cd" to the 321math.com directory. Type "java -jar 321math.jar".
  • Will it run on a Macintosh? -- Maybe. It has not been tried before. Mac OS X 10.3.1 or later will be required since Java 1.4.2 is only available for those versions of the OS. The steps would be the same for running on Linux.
